Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton – 1983
Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton‘s song ‘Islands in the Stream’ is a country music classic. Originally written by the Bee Gees, the song was recorded by Kenny and Dolly in August 1983. It ended up being the #1 song of the year in 1983. The following is a video of the original recording. This recording is obviously way before either of them went down the plastic surgery path. Both look great. Their warm, natural features is one of the reasons we grew up loving both of them.
Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton – 2010
In 2010, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton re-united to sing their timeless duet ‘Islands In The Stream’ during the Dollywood’s 25th anniversary special. They look noticebly different in this version of the song. Kenny no longer has his rugged good looks and Dolly lost the soft, young look she had. The aging country singer says he doesn’t want to look old. He claims to be satisfied with most of the results of his plastic surgeries so far, but the eye surgery he had previously, he said that he is unhappy with it and wants the cosmetic surgeon to fix it.
Kenny was quoted as saying:
“Last year I had so many lines coming in at the side of my eyes up here. So I went in and got my eyes done, and I’m not happy about it. (The surgeon) is going to go in and fix that for me. They’re too tight around the eyelids for me. It drives me crazy. I wake up in the morning, and Wanda says, “You look great.” But I know what I want to look like. If we can fix that, then I’ll be glad I did it. If we can’t fix it, I’ll regret it or get used to it. “
Thank god Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton can’t get plastic surgery on their voices!
